Damon Christopher Heyward (CCSO)

A second man has been arrested for the fatal shooting that happened on Kidmore Road in Mount Pleasant.

Charleston County Sheriff's officials said Damon Christopher Heyward turned himself in to authorities.

Heyward was wanted in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Justin Nelson. Heyward is charged with murder.

Nelson was shot in a car last month and later died at the hospital.

Another suspect, 17-year-old Skylur Green, was also charged with murder last week.

Green is also connected with a robbery and shooting on Silverstone Road that happened in February. He, along with 19-year-old Ryan Vanderhorst, are charged with attempted murder and armed robbery in that case.
