      NCPD: Driver cited after train hits vehicle

      {}NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston police responded to a train accident on East Montague Avenue Wednesday morning.

      According to a NCPD spokesperson, an 18-year-old driver was traveling west on East Montague and tried to turn left onto Gaynor Ave.The car ended up on the railroad tracks and as the driver tried to turn around to get off of the tracks, he saw an oncoming train.Police said the driver and a passenger got out of the car before it was hit by the train. There were no injuries and police said the driver was cited for careless operation.
