North Charleston man sentenced to 20 years for drug crimes

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday on federal drug charges.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, 30-year-old Sean Doctor was sentenced on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine, possession of a weapon with a convicted felon and possession of a weapon in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

He will also serve eight years of supervised release, officials said.

In April 2012, Doctor led North Charleston police on a chase after they tried to stop him. He was eventually caught in Goose Creek, but during the chase Doctor threw a loaded 9-mm handgun and a bag containing approximately 270 grams of cocaine and 136 grams of crack cocaine from his car.
