Ohio man arrested, charged with criminal sexual conduct with Mount Pleasant child
Mount Pleasant Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Canton, Ohio man accused of sexually assaulting a minor.
The Canton County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office has arrested Dennis C. Herris, 66, who is scheduled to appear in an Ohio courtroom Friday for an extradition hearing.
A judge will decide Friday if Herris will be brought back to South Carolina to face prosecution on a criminal sexual conduct charge from Mount Pleasant Police.
Herris is accused of improperly touching a minor multiple times at a home in Mount Pleasant the between April 13-16, 2017. The incidents were reported April 19.
According to the Canton Repository newspaper, Herris is a retired former music and marching band director for the school district in Canton, serving from 1995 to 2006.
