Report: Man faces drug charges after report of shots fired

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man was arrested on Thursday for drug charges after officers were called to his home for reports of gun shots and found a cocaine base, said officials with the North Charleston Police Department.Officials said officers responded to a home on Ranger Drive and found three shell casings in the front yard.When the homeowner opened the door, officers could smell marijuana coming from inside the home, officials said.According to the incident report, officers found a white rock substance in the bedroom of Tyrell Smith, 20, the homeowner's son.Officers also found a similar substance that tested positive for cocaine base in a table drawer in the living room, according to the report.The homeowner told officers her son had some friends over, and they began arguing about a pizza, officials said.According to the report, Smith and his friends went outside and that's when the homeowner heard gun shots.Smith was charged with possession of crack and possession of crack in proximity to a school.His bond was set at $25,000.
