SC man arrested for fondling women at stores

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Deputies in Spartanburg County have arrested a man in connection with an assault on three women in different locations one week ago.

Area media outlets report that 20-year-old Romel Alexander Alfaro is charged with first-degree assault and battery. He was arrested at home on Friday.

The first incident was reported at a Target store last Sunday when a woman said a man approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks. The incident report said the man told the woman he thought she was someone else and walked away.

A similar incident occurred at an Ingles grocery store and at a Wal-Mart. Investigators witnessed another assault, but the victim has yet to come forward.

Alfaro is being held in the county jail, and records don't indicate whether he has an attorney.
