New details from shooting at Goose Creek shopping center

The Goose Creek Police Department has provided new details about a shooting Thursday at the Pineview Shopping Center on St. James Avenue.

According to an incident report, a Goose Creek Police officer went to the shopping center after reports of gunshots and a possible armed robbery at one of the businesses. Police later determined there had not been an armed robbery.

On the scene, the investigating officer says a witnesses told him they saw a man who appeared to have been shot come into the parking lot from behind the shopping center, then get in a car with two other men and leave the scene on Highway 176.

The officer reported seeing blood on the pavement near where witnesses said the car, a charcoal-colored Chevrolet Camaro, was parked.

Police later learned the victim, since identified as Raekwon Lamar Williamson, had been taken to Trident Hospital.
