Still no clues in case of murdered Ohio banker Barri Shank a year after his death
It's been a year since Barri Shank was murdered outside the Hyatt Place hotel in North Charleston. The case remains cold as officials have confirmed there is no new information or clues.
Barri Shank was in town from the Cleveland area. Police say the 35-year-old dropped his wife off at the hotel to check in and was walking their dogs in the parking lot when he was shot. He and his wife planned to spend the night in North Charleston before driving to Hilton Head for a planned vacation.
In June 2016 the police department sent a clear message that information was needed with a large billboard on I-26 announcing a $30,000 reward. His family later increased the reward to $36,000 with Crime Stoppers adding an additional $9,500 for information leading to a break in the case of the murdered Ohio banker.
After Barri Shank's murder, his brother Ben set up a GoFundMe to raise reward money. As of the time this article was published, it was up to $50,000 and was no longer accepting donations. It's unknown if the family plans to again increase the reward for information leading to an arrest.
Anyone with information on the murder of Barri Shank is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
