Teen arrested, gun stolen out of Mississippi and pot found

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department say they have another illegal gun off the streets following the arrest of a teen on Patriot Boulevard overnight.

A brief report provided by the police department states officers patrolling Patriot Boulevard attempted to speak to a teen, but he ran and threw his shirt. They chased him and say his shirt was wrapped around a fully-loaded Smith and Wesson .38 Special.

The gun, officials say, was checked through NCIC and found to be stolen out of Lamar County, Mississippi.

Police say when they caught the teen he also had a large bag of marijuana is his possession.

Lawrence M. Randolph of Patriot Boulevard is charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol, unlawful possession of a pistol by someone under 18, possession of a stolen pistol and simple possession of marijuana.
