Two United Blood Nation gang members sentenced to prison
Two United Blood Nation gang members have been sentenced to prison in federal court in Florence, S.C. according to U.S. attorney Beth Drake.
Spencer Johnson, 27, was sentenced to 87 months imprisonment and Frank Truitt, 27, was sentenced to 71 months imprisonment.
Drake said both men pled guilty to participating in drug and firearm conspiracies.
Johnson and Truitt were members of the Billies East Side Bloods, a local set of the United Blood Nation, that operates in the Florence and Myrtle Beach areas.
Drake said assistant U.S. attorney Andy Moorman said Johnson was a high-ranking gang member who was principally responsible for transporting to New York firearms stolen and/or unlawfully possessed by gang members which included Truitt.
Drake said Moorman said once Johnson was in N.Y. he would buy heroin and return with it to S.C. Johnson, Truitt and other gang members would then sell the heroin locally in S.C. Drake said that Moorman said.
