Woman arrested in Sangaree for stealing mail, drug possession
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) —
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office says it arrested a woman early Monday morning in the Sangaree community for stealing mail from people's mailboxes, and drug possession.
Samantha Hazeres, 32, was found shortly before 4 a.m. walking along William Street in the Sangaree area, according to the sheriff's office. When a deputy confronted her, she ran, but was quickly caught, the BCSO says.
Deputies say Hazeres had 33 pieces of mail when she was stopped, none of which was addressed to her. Deputies say they also found her with nine Adderall pills, for which she did not have a prescription, plus marijuana.
Hazeres is charged with possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest and marijuana possession. Her bond was set at $11,700 bond.
Hazeres is currently in jail at the Dorchester County Detention Center. Deputies say Hazeres was wanted in Dorchester County by Summerville Police for forgery.
