Third Swig & Swine location opening in Mount Pleasant in February

If you live east of the Cooper, soon you won't have to drive to West Ashley or Summerville anymore to pig out on some Swig & Swine barbecue.

Restaurant owner and pitmaster Anthony DiBernardo announced Tuesday he's planning to open a third Swig & Swine location at Mount Pleasant's Shipyard Park.

Shipyard Park is a 20-acre sports complex set to open this spring. It's located along S.C. Hwy. 41 and the Wando River.

Swig & Swine, which is part of the Queen Street Hospitality group, will as part of that partnership manage the park’s concessions and cater on-site events, DiBernardo said in a press release Tuesday.

“We are very excited to bring Swig & Swine across the river to Mount Pleasant and are thrilled for the opportunity to partner with Shipyard Park," DiBernardo said. “We think this is a natural progression for Swig & Swine and Queen Street Hospitality.”

While the new Swig & Swine will be on the Shipyard Park property, the restaurant itself will be a "freestanding" 3600-square-foot building located in front of the complex.

Calling it a "perfect hybrid" of the Charleston and Summerville locations," the restaurant will seat 88 diners total, with room for 68 inside and 20 on an outside patio, DiBernardo says.

The dining area will overlook Shipyard Park’s baseball fields, and will cater to sports fans with 8 televisions inside, according to DiBernardo.

If you're not into watching sports, the new Mount Pleasant Swig & Swine will also feature a visible smoke room, similar to the Summerville location, DiBernardo says. The full kitchen also will be visible from the dining room.

The menu will be the same as the other two locations, with daily specials, according to DiBernardo.

Swig & Swine will hold a job fair Friday and Saturday, January 19-20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the new Mount Pleasant location. Hiring managers will be interviewing for all positions.

The restaurant also is hosting February 16-18 its inaugural Swig & Swine College Classic at Shipyard Park, the first baseball tournament at the facility.
