9/ll mobile memorial exhibit returns to the Lowcountry

An exhibit paying tribute to one of the darkest moments in our nation's history returns to the Holy City this weekend.

Friday, the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit rolled into North Charleston. It honors a tragedy Americans will never forget, and the men and women who gave their lives.

The mobile exhibit pulled into the North Charleston Fire Museum Friday afternoon and will be there all weekend.

The traveling exhibit is amazing to see. It unfolds into a one thousand square foot exhibit filled with items found in the rubble of the World Trade Center towers.

The outside of the trailer is eye catching, capturing the pain and heroism of that day with pictures of the American Flag and emergency responders who gave their lives.

However, there may be a long wait. Last year the exhibit attracted huge crowds in the Lowcountry. It took some people more than an hour to get in. Organizers are expecting the same this year.

You can tour the exhibit starting at 10 a.m., Saturday, but be prepared to stand in line in the heat. It's a good idea to bring water, and maybe a hat.
