Annual Safari Club International Wounded Warrior & Wheelchair two day hunt
Beaufort, S.C. (WCIV) —
The 12th annual Wounded Warrior & Wheelchair Hunt starts today, October 23rd. The event is hosted by the Safari Club International Low Country Chapter.
55 hunters are participating in a two day hunt that will take place in 25 private plantations right outside of Beaufort.
35 Wounded Warriors, 10 sick or injured children, and 10 disabled adults will be assisted by volunteers made up of active duty and retired Marines, SCI members and community members.
The Wounded Warriors were honored with a flag-waving welcome along with an address and thanks from the U.S. Marine Corps, as they entered Nemours Plantation this morning.
After the two day hunt, volunteers will process the venison for the hunters to take home. Any left over venison will be donated to families in need.
