Attention Parrotheads: Tailgating allowed at Volvo Stadium, if you're VIP

UPDATE: Thanks to our friend Lauren DeLisle who just got her tickets to the show, we know that VIP parking is an option at purchase and costs $25!

Parrotheads from all over South Carolina are going to descend on Daniel Island this Spring for Jimmy Buffet's one-night-only show at Volvo Stadium.

Tickets go on sale Friday, but third-party sites are already trying to sell tickets for three times the face value.

An essential part of the Jimmy Buffett experience however, is tailgating - a practice that is not usually allowed on Volvo Stadium property.

Volvo Stadium officials announced on Facebook Friday that they will make an exception...if you're willing to pay for VIP parking.

According to the venue's information on Ticketmaster:

"Approximately 200 VIP parking spaces at Volvo Car Clubhouse will be available for $10.00 along with other general parking on the island, which is $5.00. Parking spots can not be purchased in advance. Only available the day of the show. "

But on Facebook, Volvo representatives said something completely different.

They also said that the VIP parking area will be located on the "property of Family Circle Tennis Center," "There will be signs directing traffic once you exit onto Daniel Island," and that both handicap spaces and restroom facilities will be available.

When we called the box office this morning for clarification on purchasing parking, we got a recording that they would be closed all day Friday. We do know people, however, who are clamoring for tickets and will update this story with their experiences.

Whatever the case, get out those coconut bras and shakers of salt - Jimmy Buffet is coming to the Lowcountry on May 11!
