BCDCOG to address long-range transportation plan

The Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments has been looking into the future of Long-Range Transportation in the tri-county region and they want to hear your concerns.

They're holding a symposium Monday, June 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the College of Charleston Stern Student Center (71 George Street) where they will discuss the future of transportation and mobility in the tri-county area.

"The federally mandated LRTP is a multimodal plan that sets priorities for spending federal funds on transportation projects in the region over the next 25 years," BCDCOG officials explained. "This includes highways, roads, bridges, transit facilities and service, bicycle and pedestrian routes, and related enhancements."

All residents of the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester region are invited to learn about proposed roadway and trail improvements, new programs, and policies.

Two more symposiums will be held on June 21.

The first will be at the S.C. Research Association (315 Sigma Drive in Summerville) from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The afternoon symposium will be held at Goodwill Industries (2150 Eagle Drive in North Charleston) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
