Charleston Board of Architectural Review approves waterfront hotel
A waterfront hotel has been recently approved by the Charleston Board of Architectural Review.
The board approved Lowe Enterprises’ conceptual review application for it’s planned waterfront hotel at 176 Concord St.
Low Enterprises is happy with the BAR’s decision and will begin the second phase of the BAR process in the coming months.
"We were encouraged by the constructive comments from the BAR this evening and look forward to sharing more detailed architectural plans with the board during the preliminary phase," said Dan Battista, Lowe Enterprise's senior vice president of development in Charleston.
The hotel will be built at the current site of the South Carolina Ports Authority office building extending into Charleston’s iconic Waterfront Park.
Lowe Enterprises’ expects groundbreaking to happen in 2019 and have the hotel open by 2021.
