2 pulled from water after incident on Sullivan's Island sandbar
Officials report two people were rescued by crews with Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms Saturday afternoon.
Teams with Sullivan's Island Fire Rescue and the Isle of Palms Fire Department were dispatched at around 2:15 p.m. after reports of a possible drowning.
Chief Anthony Stith with Sullivan's Island Fire Rescue attributed the incident in the area of Station 28 to a combination of sandbars and tides.
"People need to be careful around and on sandbars with tides," Chief Stith said.
The agencies utilized jet skis to pull the two people out of the water. Chief Stith confirmed one of the two was transported to a local hospital.
