CSU closing for Hurricane Irma, MANDATORY EVACUATION ordered for student residents
Charleston Southern University is working to prepare for any potential issues from Hurricane Irma, which forecasters say could impact the Carolinas, based on a shift in the path of the storm reported Wednesday. TRACK THE STORM
University officials say the campus will close at 9 p.m. Thursday. All sports events, campus activities and campus visits will also be canceled, "until further notice."

The university has ordered a MANDATORY EVACUATION for students (including those in the Wingate hotel) by noon Friday, September 8.
Students without an evacuation plan should come by the housing office in Russell West 126 immediately. The dining hall will close on Friday, September 8 at 9:30 a.m.
The following athletic events have been postponed:
September 9 Football at S.C. State Postponed
September 10-11 Men's Golf at Kiawah Invitational Postponed
The following athletic events are still in conversation to be moved to an alternate location:
September 10 Women's Soccer vs. Delaware State
The following athletic events will continue as planned this weekend:
September 8-9 Volleyball at the Elon Phoenix Classic
