Child hospitalized after being hit by vehicle near Summerville
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) —
S.C. Highway Patrol and Berkeley County EMS responded Thursday morning to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian wreck involving a child near Summerville.
The incident happened on Tram Boulevard near Tram Court and Rose Drive, according to supervisors at Berkeley County EMS Dispatch.
According to L.Cpl. Matt Southern with Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 6:40 a.m., and EMS transported a child away from the scene for treatment of injuries after they were struck by a 2012 Dodge.
Southern said the incident happened near a bus stop, but that no school bus was there at the time.
Highway Patrol continues to investigate the wreck, but Southern says it does not appear the driver of the vehicle will face any charges in connection to the incident.
