A former Mount Pleasant Town Councilman has been arrested and charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct in connection to a party involving minors on Seabrook Island in late March.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says detectives arrested Ken Glasson late Thursday night, and have charged him with third degree criminal sexual conduct.

Glasson, 53, is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday at 10 a.m. He was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center shortly before 12:30 a.m. Friday. Authorities say he turned himself in to law enforcement officials.

According to a incident report provided by the sheriff's office, Glasson was a chaperone for a March 30 party at a Seabrook Island home attended by Wando High School students.

A concerned person contacted the sheriff's office about underage drinking and the possibility of inappropriate sexual activity at the party, according to the report.

An affidavit provided by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office states Glasson is accused of having sex or committing sex acts upon a woman who said she was unable to move of tell him to stop.

The sheriff's office says Kelly Hollowell, 51, of Mount Pleasant, was also listed as a chaperone at the party. A background check shows Hollowell was arrested in April 2014 on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
