Sheriff's Office vehicle involved in fatal crash in Summerville

The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirms one person was killed in a crash that involved a Berkeley County Sheriff's Office vehicle.

A motorcycle rider died in the crash just before midnight on Wednesday, according to the Highway Patrol.

The coroner has identified the deceased as 30-year-old Robert Lee Clark of Goose Creek. He was not wearing a helmet.

Officials say Clark's Harley Davidson, a Sheriff's Office Ford Explorer, and a Dodge Neon collided on Main Street near Richardson Street in Summerville at 11:55 p.m.

A portion of North Main Street remained closed into Thursday morning.

A spokesperson with the Highway Patrol says information on what happened leading up to the crash needs to come from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

ABC News 4 has reached out to them for more information.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
