{}CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Food Lion Charitable Foundation has donated $3,500 to One80 Place, the organization formerly known as Crisis Ministries.One80 Place officials say the money will go to help feed local residents and support their community kitchen and food rescue programs."The Food Lion Charitable Foundation's gift comes at a very important time. We see more children and families stretching their food budgets while on summer break," said One80 Place CEO Stacey Denaux. "The Foundation's support helps us pick up healthy and nutritious food to serve to people in need."One80 Place officials said the community kitchen provides hot meals to anyone in the community who is hungry and is also a way for them to reach Charleston's needy and introduce them to other programs offered. They also said about 25,000 pounds of perishable and non-perishable food items are collected each year from area grocery stores, restaurants, and caterers to be prepared and served in the community kitchen.
