Shedding Light on Human Trafficking: A Discussion on how it affects the Lowcountry
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month.
In 2017, the United States had more than 4,400 cases of Human trafficking reported, according to the Human Trafficking Hotline’s website.
According to those statistics, in South Carolina, 65 cases were reported in 2017.
The Founder of Doors of Freedom, Sharon Rikard, and North Charleston Detective Charles Benton will be hosting a discussion on the growth of Sex Trafficking in the Charleston area.
The event called "Whiteout Sex Trafficking" will take place on January 29, at the North Charleston Marriott, at 7 P.M.
