Lease up for Sears at Northwoods Mall

As part of a restructuring initiative started earlier this year, Sears will be closing shop at Northwoods Mall this Summer.

According to a Sears Holding Corp spokesperson, the store is actually owned by Seritage Growth Properties. They said Seritage is "recapturing" the location as part of a lease termination agreement.

They anticipate that the store will close to the public in mid-June with liquidation sales starting on April 14.

"Those associates that are eligible will receive severance and have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Sears or Kmart stores," a statement read. "The number of affected associates is not publicly available."

Sears announced the closure of well over 100 so-called "underperforming" stores last January, which included the K-Mart on Rivers Avenue.
