Military convoys to begin between North and South Carolina bases
FORT BRAGG, N.C. —
Military vehicles may be responsible for some increased traffic our area. According to a press release, the 82nd Airborne division will be conducting convoy training from Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. The convoys are scheduled for February 8 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and February 9 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. In our area, the convoys will be using Interstate 95, Interstate 26, and Remount road. Military officials are advising motorists to "be alert, drive safe" and "to not enter the convoy between vehicles and use caution when passing a convoy in approved areas." State highway patrol will escort the convoys. They also warn that the convoy may impact traffic.
