Mobile home fire sparks near Summerville

UPDATE: One man was injured in a mobile home fire. It happened in Dorchester County. He man was taken to Trident Hospital after jumping from a window to escape a mobile home fire. He is being treated for burns and injuries caused by the jump.

"This incident could have been much worse," said Dorchester County Fire Chief Tres Atkinson. "It is proof of the continued success of the Automatic Aid Agreement between DCFR and SFR"

Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and EMS also responded to the scene.

"Both departments continue to work side-by-side to carry out lifesaving missions in Fire District 209 and are to be commended for their professionalism,” said Atkinson.

No other injuries were reported at the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Earlier: Dorchester County fire crews responded to a mobile home fire in unincorporated Summerville Friday morning.

Summerville fire also helped with the fire located on Clark Lane.

Dorchester County Sheriff's officials said one of the people living in the home was taken to the hospital for injuries related to the fire.
