More than 14,000 ottomans recalled for fall hazard
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Big Lots stores are recalling some of their wicker ottomans after several reports came in of people falling through them.The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of about 14,000 Wilson and Fisher brand Cayman Resin Wicker ottomans.The dark brown ottomans have cream cushions and were part of a six-piece set including two chairs and a table.They were sold at Big Lots stores nationwide and will have item number DA13-015-6S-2CO and SKU 810140754 in the instructions that come with the sets. They were sold from February 2014 through March 2014 for about $320 per set.Big Lots has gotten 19 reports of people falling through the centers of the ottomans. Six reported minor injuries such as back strain, scratches, bruises or contusions.If you have one of these ottomans, you can return them to Big Lots for a refund of $50 each and still keep the rest of the set.Consumers can call Big Lots toll-free at (866) 244-5687 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
