The Charleston County Sheriff's Office has a arrested a person following a chase ending in a crash Thursday on Azalea Drive.

Jarret Jones, 21, of North Charleston, is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, failure to stop for law enforcement, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine base, and driving under suspension, according to the sheriff's office.

A BOLO for a vehicle matching the description of the one deputies say Jones was driving had been issued after witnesses reported seeing it leaving the scene of a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard.

Once deputies spotted the vehicle, the sheriff's office says dispatchers advised the vehicle was stolen from the downtown area.

CCSO says when deputies tried to stop Jones on Cosgrove Avenue near the 1-26 ramp, he sped off. Deputies say he didn't get far, however.

Jones crashed near the old Baker Hospital on Azalea Drive. He was taken into custody after being treated by EMS.

Charleston and North Charleston Police also responded. Investigators are still trying to determine if Jones is connected to the robbery at the Wells Fargo. One person has been arrested in that case.
