MUSC giving their therapy dogs a little extra love today
Today, MUSC hosted its second annual Blessing of the Therapy Dogs.
There are about fifty therapy dogs in the MUSC program.
These pups see patients in six different hospitals across the Lowcountry.
Often, spending six hours on one floor because everyone wants to play!
The fur babies were blessed by the MUSC chaplains George Rossi and Stacy Sergent Lawton.
Officials say studies show therapy dogs are good for your health.
Just having them around can lower a patient’s blood pressure and stress hormones.
