North Charleston K9 unit involved in accident on Rivers Avenue

An ABC News 4 crew member that was on scene reports there was an accident Thursday night involving a North Charleston Police K9 vehicle and a GMC SUV.

The Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch center says an accident happened on Rivers Avenue and Gumwood Boulevard.

Dispatch received the call at 8:35.

Crews on scene said Rivers Avenue was closed off between Aviation Avenue and Remount Road.

North Charleston spokesperson, Spencer Pryor says South Carolina Highway Patrol is the investigating agency. We have reached out to them for more information.
