Once, twice, three times a top city

CHARLESTON,S.C. (WCIV) - Conde Nast Traveler just can'tget enough of the Holy City. For the third timein as many years, the magazine has ranked Charlestonas the No. 1 city in the United States.

The readers' choice polltallied 80,000 votes and Charlestoncame out on top yet again.

Whether it's the cobblestonestreets, the historic buildings that line most every street downtown, theLowcountry food, or the intoxicating smell of pluff mud, Conde Nast's readersare lovestruck.

Charlestonalso pulled a fifth-place ranking in the top cities in the world, nestledbetween San Sebastian and Salzburg. Last year, the magazine found Charleston to be the topcity in the world, so the city did fall a few spots globally.

Conde Nast also saw the need torank the city's hotels - from the Mills House at tenth to the Wentworth Mansionat first.

In response to the third title,the city's visitor bureau released a music video by American Idol finalistElise Testone and featuring a group of locals talking about what is soattractive about Charleston.
