One person dies after wreck in Goose Creek at St. James Ave-Crowfield Blvd intersection
Goose Creek Police say a person has died after a wreck this week at the intersection of St. James Avenue and Crowfield Boulevard.
Police say the wreck happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, when a man's truck collided with a woman's SUV, then hit a traffic light pole.
According to police, the man was attempting to change lanes in his Nissan pickup, when he clipped the rear end of a woman's SUV.
The woman's SUV spun out of control, but came to a stop in the road, while the man's truck continued out of the roadway and hit the pole.
Police say the pickup driver was taken to a local hospital, and later died from internal injuries. The coroner's office has not verified yet the man's identity.
The woman driving the SUV was uninjured, and was able to drive away from the scene with only minor damage to her vehicle, police say.
Police say the man driving the truck was doing so with a suspended license. Goose Creek Police are still investigating the incident.
