Pedestrian struck, killed on Ashley Phosphate Road identified
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) —
Dorchester County Coroner, Paul J. Brouthers has identified the pedestrian that was pronounced dead at the scene as 62-year-old Richard Nailing.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the accident happened on Ashley Phosphate Road near Stratton Drive around 8:05 p.m.
Troopers say the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road. A woman driving struck the victim moments later.
The victim was pronounced dead by the county coroner. The woman driving the vehicle was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
