Police arrest suspect in armed robbery of Georgetown Dollar General
Georgetown, S.C. (WPDE) —
The Dollar General at 8003 N. Fraser Street was robbed shortly before 9 a.m. Monday morning and police are looking for the man they believe is responsible.
Witnesses told police that a man came into the store with a small handgun and pointed it at the clerk.
The clerk gave the man the money he was demanding and the man fled the scene, according to a new release.
Police released surveillance photographs in an attempt to identify and find the man.
Monday night, police announced that they had arrested John Nathan Linen II, 35, of Georgetown in connection with the incident.
Linen has been charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Linen has been taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center where he awaits a bond hearing.
