Reported gun shots in Colleton County, CCSO says
A deputy with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call concerning gun shots in Colleton County, Tuesday, December 5.
The incident happened at 328 Francis Street and according to the deputy, upon arrival he noticed multiple shell casings in the roadway’s residence.
The deputy then spoke with a witness that said he was asleep in his room when he was suddenly awakened by the sound of gun shots.
Shots continued so much so that the man believed the shots were hitting the house which prompted him to fall to the floor for safety.
Officers say the man did not see anyone shooting, but he did hear a car take off at high speed as soon as the gunshots stopped.
The witness’ mother and sister were also awakened by gunshots and report the same thing happening.
There were 24 shell casings in the roadway, and the front of the residence was struck seven times by the gunfire.
No one in the residence was injured during the incident.
