South Carolina Republican candidates take the stage in debate
Charleston, S.C. (WCIV) —
On Wednesday, four out of the five Republican candidates spoke on their promises if they become governor.
Missing from the line-up was Governor Henry McMaster, who declined the invitation given by ABC News 4.
The other Republican candidates for governor, Lt. Governor Kevin Bryant, Former Lt Governor Yancey McGill, Former Secretary of Labor Catherine Templeton and businessman John Warren all attended.
Issues discussed were the recent emergency closing of the Wando Bridge in Charleston, prison riots at Lee Correctional, President Donald Trump, the "Me Too" movement and school shootings.
Just like the Democratic debate on Tuesday, the debate was put on at the College of Charleston's Stern center ballroom.
The debate lasted an hour, limiting each candidate to one minute to respond to each question.
