VIDEO | Storm surge "worse than Matthew" threatens Awendaw chicken coop

An ABC News 4 viewer from Awendaw submitted the videos included here, showing extremely high storm surge on their property off Bulls Island Road near Garris Landing.

The property owner says the storm surge Monday from Tropical Storm Irma were far worse than what they experienced in 2016 with Hurricane Matthew.

The storm tides reportedly wiped out a small bridge leading to a chicken coop on the property, but the chickens made it out fine, according to the owners.

They even laid a few eggs, despite the stressful storm conditions.
