VIDEO: Charleston area protesters hope to show Trump 'what democracy looks like'
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) —
Protesters gathered at the North Charleston Coliseum Friday not long after President Donald Trump boarded Air Force One headed for the Lowcountry.
The rally was organized by Indivisible Charleston and by 11:30 there were hundreds of people in attendance. Members of the group said their goal is to put pressure on state lawmakers to address problems communities all over the country are facing.
Protesters said they plan to demonstrate until at least 2 p.m.
Those in attendance at the rally varied on issue, but all seemed to agree on a few things. One big topic was making sure everyone becomes aware of how important it is to vote (video below is MUST WATCH). Mobile app users can VIEW HERE.
Protests Friday weren't just in opposition of the Commander in Chief. We ran across several Trump supporters who picketed in support of President Trump and his first month in office. Their message -- "we need to get more of the positive messages out."
