McClellanville home destroyed by fire Monday, no injuries reported
Crews with the Awendaw-McClellanville Consolidated Fire District responded to a fire on Deas Hill Road Monday night but were unable to save the home.
Dispatchers say the call about the fire came in just after 10 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find the home "fully involved."
"In spite of the efforts of our firefighters, the home is a total loss," AMCFD posted on Facebook.
The woman who owns the home, says she's been there for 20 years. She said she went into the kitchen, saw the fire and told everyone in the home to get out.
Though the homeowner said the fire started in the kitchen, the fire is still being investigated.
Officials say none of the four people in the in the home were injured, but one person was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
Deas Hill Road is located off Toby Road, near River Road and Society Road just outside McClellanville.
