Life Goals: Charleston Battery players visit kids at MUSC Children's Hospital
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) —
Some local athletes scored a real goal Wednesday at MUSC Children's Hospital, when it comes to doing the right thing and showing care and compassion for their fellow man.
Charleston Battery soccer players made a stop in the hospital's atrium to spend time having fun and playing with some of the kids in the hospital right now.
Team members said they were just trying to show good will to the community that supports them.
"We don't ever want to see anybody have to go through what they're going through,” The Battery’s Taylor Mueller said. “But if they are going through a struggle, then hopefully we can help ease it and get their mind away from it for a little bit, and enjoy themselves."
At times it was tough to tell who was having more fun -- the players, or the kids.
Players gave out some tickets to an upcoming home game, so kids will have a chance to possibly see their friends from the team in an even happier setting someday soon.
