Charleston Southern names Hanahan, Clemson alum Adam Ward head baseball coach
Adam Ward has gotten the fulltime gig at Charleston Southern.
Ward was announced as the CSU baseball team’s permanent head coach Thursday, after being named interim head coach before the season started.
The Bucs have had a decent year under Ward since the Hanahan High alumnus took over as skipper. The team started at 8-2, and is now 21-23 overall, two games under .500 and tied for seventh in the Big South standings with the season winding down.
Ward is in his sixth season with Buccaneers, according to the university's website. Ward has primarily served as pitching coach since joining the staff.
After a standout career at Hanahan, Ward played for Clemson from 2007-09, hitting .375 for the Tigers in 2008.
