Clemson's Deshaun Watson goes No. 12 to Texans in NFL Draft
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WCIV) —
Clemson has its second first-round draft pick of the night.
The Houston Texans picked former Clemson star quarterback Deshaun Watson No. 12 overall in Thursday night's NFL Draft.
Watson led Clemson to back-to-back appearances in the college football National Championship, with the Tigers winning it all in 2016.
Watson is a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist, a two-time Davey O’Brien Award winner, and two-time winner of the Manning Award ,
Clemson was 32-3 with Watson starting at quarterback. He threw for 10,163 yards and 90 career touchdowns with the Tigers.
Watson ranks third in ACC history in total offense (12,094 yards), and is Clemson's all-time leader in career completion percentage (.674)
Watson joins former Clemson star Deandre Hopkins with the Texans.
Former Clemson wide receiver Mike Williams was drafted earlier in the night, going No. 7 overall to the Los Angeles Chargers.
