Williams was drafted seventh overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night.

Williams (6-foot-4, 218 pounds) caught 84 passes for 1,171 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior in 2016 as he helped lead the Tigers to their second National Championship in school history.

Williams missed his junior season after suffering breaking his neck when he hit his helmet against the goal post on a TD catch in the first game of the season.

Williams is a native of Vance in Orangeburg County. He played high school football for the Lake Marion Gators.

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson was picked No. 12 by the Houston Texans later in the first round of the draft.
