Swinney family celebrates after Clemson national championship win
CLEMSON, S.C. (WCIV) —
As Clemson parades the trophy around this week and then officially does just that on Saturday morning at Death Valley, Dabo Swinney is in rarified air as a college head coach.
He's accomplished the pinnacle of the profession and led Clemson to history.
Nobody can be prouder of Swinney than those around him who have been around him since the beginning. Of course, his wife Kathleen, a high school sweetheart from Pelham, Alabama, who has been his rock through it all. She's also an adopted mother to everyone who plays for Swinney.
And of course, Dabo's real mother, Carol McIntosh, the woman who lived with Swinney when he was in college, taking care of her after she divorced his alcoholic father and had no place to live.
It's been an incredible ride.
