Berkeley Stags take down Stratford Knights in county rivalry, 48-19 | Friday Night Rivals

Berkeley County bragging rights go to the Stags after Berkeley scored a decisive win over the Stratford Knights at Ray Stackley Field on Friday, 48-19.

Eric Tuttle ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, while Cam Myers had touchdowns on defense and special teams to lead the Stags (1-1) to their first win of the season.

Mario Anderson had two TD runs to lead the Knights, including an 81-yard sprint to the endzone in the first quarter that gave Stratford (0-1) an early lead.

It was all Berkeley from there. After Anderson's score, Myers ran the ensuing kickoff back 87 yards for the Stags, who went up for good on the extra point after blocking Stratford's first PAT try,

Tuttle added 1-yard TD runs later in the first, and again in the second quarter. The second followed a circus catch by Alec Wyndham on a tipped pass to move the Stags down to the one.

Berkeley closed the first half up 21-6.

Anderson scored his second TD of the night for the Knights on a 12-yard run early in the third quarter to cut into the Stags' lead,

Berkeley would go on to score four unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter to put the game to bed.

Keshawn Wicks had an 80-yard TD run, Myers returned an interception 48 yards for a score, Navarre had a 14-yard TD run, and Tuttle found Wyndham for a 74-yard TD pass to account for the Stags second half scoring.

Ryan Robinson had a 43-yard TD run for the Knights in the fourth quarter to account for the final score.

Colleton County travels to take on Ashley Ridge in next week's Friday Night Rivals Game of the Week.
