Wando will play in 5th straight volleyball state title game after win over Lexington
Wando's volleyball team punched it's ticket to a fifth straight state title game by beating Lexington Tuesday for the Lower State crown.
And, for the third consecutive year, the Warriors will play Dorman for the state championship.
Last year, Dorman won a state championship rematch after the Warriors took the crown in 2015.
Coach Alexis Glover was in the huddle Tuesday at the "Chop House" keeping her girls motivated.
"Under the pressure, we were down," Glover said. "They've been there. They know what they are doing. They're just cool, they don't get rattled too much."
The Warriors in the first set against Lexington gutted out a 28-26 win.
Warrior's Senior Lexi Hellberg was in constant state of control, Glover said.
The second set was tight again with Wando winning 26-24.
"(I'm) so excited, ready for the rematch, ready to fight," Wando senior Kheegan Andrews said after the game, looking ahead to the Dorman matchup.
