Bands to battle for spots at Cooper River Bridge Run

We're counting down to race day with many events planned for a much anticipated 40th year of the Cooper River Bridge Run.

Tonight will play host to one of those exciting events -- the Battle of the Bands on the USS Yorktown.

There will be several bands providing live entertainment on race day April 1st, and tonight those bands in the running will duke it out for the honor of pumping up thousands of runners and walker in one of the largest road races in the country.

The top 5 bands at the end of tonight will play on the bridge. The "best" band will perform at the very top of the bridge, and all other 25 bands will be placed along the 10K course.

Some of the bands this year include: (Headliner) Heather Hayes and her band, Deep End, Fifteenth Summer, Fiona Varner, Grapefruit Summer, Squid Blood, Haley Mae Campbell, John Sherrill, Kelly Cheats, Johnson Teal Taylor, Mirror Faze, Nikol, Ryan McKenzie, Sondorblue, Greye, Michael Daughtry Band, Synergy Violins, Youth Model, Stefanie Potter, and All the Little Pieces.
