The next Cooper River Bridge Run is still seven months away, but preparations are well underway. On Wednesday night, officials unveiled the new poster for next year's event.

There were 68 submissions and more than 8,000 votes cast in the contest, but Charleston artist Tate Nation was crowned the winner.

"I love being able to create art and make a living as an artist here in Charleston and this is just icing on the cake to have one of the biggest things in Charleston, the Cooper River Bridge Run, to have my work featured on there," Nation said.

His design will be featured on all T-shirts, posters, and promotional materials.

The Bridge Run will auction off the other design entries and the money will be given to the run's 16 charities.
