Charleston Jefferson Award winner recognized in Washington during annual gala
WASHINGTON (WCIV) —
A Lowcountry woman making a difference for kids in need is being recognized in the nation's capital.
Emily Hoisington started Charleston Hope, a local nonprofit that provides a wide range of services for students and their families.
Hoisington was invited to Washington, D.C. for the annual Jefferson Awards Gala, where her story will be shared over the next few days with people from around the country.
Hoisington's nonprofit has also spread to two other cities around the country, Spartanburg, and Akron, Ohio.
